16Nov02 (Monthenor): Stupid gogeek being down...anyway, the comic is here, and the comic was done last night, but that whole Potter thing came up, and then my puter was being pissy, and then gogeek was down this morning...my sentence will end now. |

17Nov02 (Monthenor): Okay, I'm in a more updately mood now. Lessee... I was worried about what kind of dreams I'd have, going from Don Quixote to Chamber of Secrets to Rachet and Clank to Inuyasha. No need to worry, though, since I had one that was merely as fucked up as every dream I've had for the past three weeks. Whatever evil force is sending these to me, get on with the Apocalypse already! Dreams are stupid and keep Monty awake. Have you ever had the sensation of a bumblebee flying directly into your ear? No? MONTY HAS! Chamber of Secrets: I went into this movie fresh, since I didn't remember this book at all. Turns out there was a reason for that...it really doesn't have the best story. But the movie-making was leaps beyond last year, especially the Quidditch that didn't look totally fake. It was amusing that Warwick Davis still got big billing in the end credits, but appeared for all of about twenty seconds at the end. Dirty peck. Furthermore, I went to a Saturday matinee, so the theater was crawling with little kids. I actually had no problem with that, though. They gasped when appropriate and otherwise shut the hell up. No, what I had problems with was the jackass to my right who forgot to turn off his cell-phone-with-"Anvil Chorus"-ringer. I had problems with the twit behind me who complained all through the end credits that "[the people in the credits] must get pissed that nobody ever stays to see their names" and "there better be something after all this" and "it better be worth sitting through all these credits" etc. Like it's real taxing for this guy to sit there for an extra five minutes. Like he has somewhere to be at 6PM on a Saturday. A person who thinks nothing of sitting for two hours and forty minutes in the middle of the day, but complains about the extra five on the end?...and then when the after-credits scene did happen, he was like "that's it?" Philistines. Rachet and Clank: It makes me happy. I was always a big fan of the "hero with smaller backpack hero" platformer genre, and Rachet+Clank doesn't disappoint. I've flown jets, raced hoverboards, commanded legions of tiny GadgeBots, defended a city with turret guns, and taunted enemies with my Taunt gun (*whistle* AWOOOGA *honk honk*!!). It also fulfills my platforming compulsion to hit things and collect the things that come out. What could be better than collecting hundreds of shiny little metal thingies? Collecting thousands of shiny little metal thingies! Woowoo! |
