GerbilMechs 012 : Introducing...

20Aug02 (Monthenor): Yeah, okay, so I've been asked a few times whether it's normal to have no clue what's going on in the plot right now. Just like to restate that yes, it is. After all, Carl and Bodie really don't have any idea what's going on either.

I'd also like to point out that I recently purchased Tony Hawk 3 for PS2, so I am once again feeling the pressures of not doing as much comic as I should. Right after this goes live I'll devote a little time to my pencil, but my evenings will be shot until I crush this game a few times.

Right! Less talkin', more drawin'!

And oh yeah, I have no idea where Morgion went, either. Never showed up on Saturday, and I KNOW he saw there was a comic...

8.20.02 (Morgion):

Ah, what? I'm here. Sorta. This time I believe it's crunch time for real... no friendly deadline extensions... I may have a beheading to deal with if we don't make this one. You know what that means... I have no life outside of work for the next two weeks! Yeay! I really should just set up a cot in back. If I rig up a shower system in the bathroom, warm my food over a jet engine, and squint really hard, it'll feel just like home. Except dirty. Yeah, you know me... I'm down with OCD.

*slaps self* There, now you don't have to. Aren't I considerate?

8.22.02 (Morgion):

He may be snide and condescending, basking in his 1337 Gimp skilz, but damnit, I finally win! He may think he's won by slipping in the last word when I'm out of town, but now the time for vengeance has come! The following IM communiqué says it all:

Monthenor: Did I show you the finished product last night? http://gerbilmechs.com/Comic/wai_swordchucks.jpg
Morgion: The tiger is funny. I think he should be a regular.
Morgion: and see, aren't those speech bubbles so nice and anti-aliased? Smooth and tasty...
Monthenor: it's weird. I used the same steps as I do in the GIMP, except the feathering only seemed to go out from the balloon. The GIMP sends the feathering to both sides.
Morgion: you can also make a selection, find a nice brush, and do an Edit > Stroke with a setting of Center. Umm, nice.
Monthenor: yeah, I may use Photoshop more for now. If the feathering and antialiasing is really that much different, I'll leave the GIMP for smaller projects.

And Monty has a new monitor. So now he'll be able to see the comic like the rest of the world does. With features like "brightness" and "contrast" and "accurate color representation". ;-)
