31Jan03 (Monthenor): I swear to Gord, I had this comic done on Wednesday night. Before all this stuff aired yesterday. I'm all like, topical, and stuff. So I saw Final Destination 2 today. I'm sure Morgion will also have high praise for it later on, but I'd like to just come out with a warning, yo: if you didn't like the first one, you won't like this one. In fact, if you didn't like the first one, you should leave this web site and never return. I cast thee out!! They gone? Cool. This movie totally rocked! You've seen the commercials, I'm sure. They mean nothing! All that stuff is done in like the first five minutes, and then the movie's just gone. The whole thing was hilarious, but in a good way. Hilarious if you like watching Death's (even more) elaborate setups for the big punchline. The way the entire movie is crafted, scene by scene...it's beautiful. |

If I had a hammer… … I'd beat that damn song out of my head. It's been there ever since Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which is infinitely preferable to Darkness Falls. Or so I've heard: that's right, it's so bad that I would have felt guilty dragging people along to see it. Those who know my penchant for bad flicks should be appropriately astounded. Do you know why nested incarnations aren't permitted at this level? You don't? Well then you should go learn about them. Recently, I told a friend that I was researching different stipulations and qualifications for listing to the major search engines and indexes. He looked kind of perplexed, and asked me "People still submit to search engines?" It actually made me stop and think how marvelous Google is; simplistic, ubiquitous web searching. Literally, since Google powers results for Yahoo, AOL, and Netscape. However, Google isn't everything. It knows about everything, but only because the content exists somewhere else: in less philosophical terms, if you have listings in Yahoo's directory, or the Open Directory Project (ODP), or anywhere, your fabled Google PageRank goes up. The more high-quality sites that link to you, the better Google's opinion of your site. Of course, if you're just creating a personal website, you don't have to worry about submitting to every search engine under the sun, or even a handful. If you want to do any promotion work, optimize your keyphrase hot-spots and submit your site to a Yahoo Directory. However, if you have a site from which you wish to procure mucho bucks, you need to be more thorough and prepare a search engine submission budget. Yes, a budget. Isn't that weird? Because, unfortunately, not everyone uses search engines well. |
