04Oct02 (Monthenor): I was on my way home from West Acres
Amoco a week ago last Tuesday. Y'know, when my car went in for
repairs and I got sick and almost didn't do last week's MM. So I'm walking
back past the trailer park side of town (along
25th street), and I see this sign. It was exactly as pictured in the
comic, daring me to doubt its existence.
I was immediately seized with a mixture of amusement and abject
fear for our educational system...it's like public schools are too
expensive for these people or something. Or maybe language is
no longer taught in public schools, I wouldn't know. I can picture
arithmetic and social studies being conveyed with a series of grunts
and gestures:
Teacher: "Ugh gug France?!" *points five feet to left of
atlas*
Student: "Nukt gorg?" *points at Turkey*
Teacher: "EEK AKKH EEE!!" *throws feces at student*
So after graduating from seventh grade or so, these trailer
park people enter the exciting field of bik'e speculation... Sometimes I
wonder how the "other half" lives, and then I remember that their share
is much more than half. Then I get into one of my camera-bitey
moods.
Right, Red Dragon. Well, I think after the crap
Hannibal got from critics we should see much tighter direction to
this film, hopefully with some additional dissolving suspense crystals to
get our breaths all minty fresh. I have yet to hate something with Ed
Norton, so I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed.
