02Aug02 (Monthenor): Well, here we are. The first (and lesser) of the two Ico comics I have so far. I'll also warn you that I'm a bit behind on my GM duties for next Wednesday...I know what I want to do with it, but I just can't get in the drawin' groove. I'm taking today off of work to recuperate, so maybe by tomorrow I can put pencil to paper. Wai nyeeds to be handled very carefully, to say the least. I spent most of my week at work. That's right, not "work", work. We're talking 10-12 hour days, getting home after Morgion does, scary shit like that. So not only have I not gotten any GM done, I've also played no games and watched very little TV. Maybe I'll have something for you later...this evening I'm going to Red Lobster and then Signs, and I'm sure I'll have an opinion on it when I get back. Or we may just sit around and beat hos for money. Whatever, y'nyow? |

08.02.02 (Morgion): Yes, we love Ico. Know what else we love? Consistency. Regulation. Order. Otherwise we get Chaos and the world becomes a much cozier place for beings comprised completely of darkness. And glowing eyes. Friggin viscous darkness... Anyway, consistency. Like, say, posts that come up on days they are expected, when both authors / contributors, even those that have been slacking on things like "pretty design" and "content management" and "a friggin logo". Even though English is ambiguous, it's still somewhat consistent. For example, consider the following hypothetical sentence: "Monty, when the comic comes up, just let me know; you don't have to wait for my post." Although it may sound remarkably like, "Monty, just put the post up and let me know after a few minutes," it sounds absolutely nothing like, "Monty, post on non-posting days and give me no notice of any sort; let my fan-natic co-workers find the comic where I have a fscking character but don't have any posted comments because I didn't know it was up." Although, perhaps Monty's acknowledgement of my original statement wasn't actually, "OK"... maybe it was in fact, "OK, you can unleash a plethora of fire ants into my room in the dead of night, such that my flesh shall sear with the pain of a thousand sunburns and my wails will be most piteous." Yeah, maybe that was it... ;-) |

03Aug02 (Monthenor): Okay, quick movie update. I am decidedly "meh" about Signs. I don't know if the symbols were more blatant this time around, or if I was just watching harder than in The Sixth Sense, but Signs tries to recapture that Shyamalan magic and falls a bit short. I can't say any more than that without giving away stuff for those who still might want to see it. It's not a bad movie, considering some of the crap I've seen this summer, but for a spooky good time I'll have to wait for Ring or Cube 2. |
